Romance on a Sundae
The more Honey you drip on me
the stickier things get.
I am weighed down with
every layer of Strawberry Syrup,
every layer of Caramel,
every layer of Fudge
until I simply cannot budge.
And I've been duped
Into rolling myself into
your scoop of ice cream
In this Sundae of love
And I am melting beneath the heat
and the sweet, sweet, sweet...sweet
Saccharine sweetness of it all.
(And the banana in this boat
is getting rather mushy.)
I am trying my hardest to
balance that cherry
you placed upon my head,
like a crown fit for a Queen.
But I am not a Queen.
